Did your medical professional ask you about "guns in your house", and it was not to compare yours with his? If so, you have a problem.
If (s)he does, and the question is not between firearm-owners, it is simply a masquerade; they are not practicing medicine they are pandering to the anti-Second crowd-financed by enemies of our Constitutional freedoms.
The "Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership" ( https://drgo.us ) website explains the recent meddling of activist medical organizations into our Constitutional Rights.
There are several things you can do to avoid being bullied by these political activists masquerading as doctors. They mask their political anti-gun activism in terms designed to fool the fools. Don't be a fool, don't buy their Bloomberg kool-aid.
Here is my take if a medical practitioner started asking (politically, of course, not friendly-socially between gun-owners) questions about your gun ownership.
"Well, Doctor, before we get into any discussion about my Second Amendment Rights, or what directives I've received from the Superintendent of Public Safety, let's take a look at your instructor's certificate for firearms safety. Any of several professional training certificates from NRA or other qualified training resources will be fine."
Well, I don't' have any of those, my question is for your personal safety at home which directly affects your physical health situation.
"Then, Doctor, I must believe that you are getting outside your area of expertise, which in the case of medical professionals is called a "Boundary Violation". I understand the State Medical Licensing Authority takes medical boundary violations seriously. And frankly, doctor, wouldn't you admit that your actual motive in this invasion of my privacy is nothing less than using your position for political pandering to the anti-gun crowd?"

Disclaimer: And if you respond to some politically intrusive doctor in the manner I said that I would, be prepared to find another doctor. He was caught in his political pandering, he's embarrassed and pizzed. Then be sure to report the political activist to your State Medical Authority, your insurance carrier, and every "social media" site where you can leave a review of your political pedaler of anti-Constitution crap masquerading as a doctor.

Very well worth the read, full link below the clip:
(clip...)Patients do have remedies for the boundary-crossing doctor. In today's competitive healthcare market most patients can choose from many doctors. Changing doctors is the simplest solution. A written complaint to the health plan's membership services department can send a powerful message that boundary violations by doctors will not be tolerated. If the problem persists, patients can file a complaint with the doctor's state licensing board. Medical licensing boards are increasingly aware of the problem of boundary violations. Although state boards have addressed primarily sexual and financial misconduct, the broad principles they have developed to guide doctors in these areas apply to the entire doctor-patient relationship.(18,19) (End Clip, see the link)

The medical associations will never stop pedaling their anti-Constitution political bullying. This is just one example of what they're pedaling to their political crony legislators.

Just FYI: In the past many years of dealing with medical professionals I have only discussed firearms with a few doctors. One wanted my opinion for the most practical firearm he could carry. Another discussed his firearms scores and why he was usually hitting at 7-o'clock on the target, and another discussed the most practical firearm for carrying in the outback. I did remind another that the caduceus on his license plate told all the druggies that there might be a medical bag in the car. He said there was also a .45 in the holster under his jacket and the bag didn't stay in his car when he wasn't there also. Smart Doctor!
