I got so excited writing about shooting the rifles that I fotrgot what I really wanted to cover.
Since I fired three differing rifles, with different trigger activities (some 2-stage, some almost two-stage) the mastering of trigger control comes into
play. The key thing to remember is PRESSING THE TRIGGER. we usually use the term pulling the trigger, but no,we don't pull ANYTHTHING. A constand pressure on the trigger, slowly (in sighting in) increasing the pressure until the rifle fires (as a surprise action) will help keep the group small. In actual hunting, or need to fire a semi-auto fairly fast, the rate of pressure applicarion in the key, keeping the sight picture and sight alignment as you apply the pressure. It takes practice, because one can be JERKING the trigger unconciously. I fired my Mouse Gun several years, and my rapid fire groups were not what I wanted. Then I got a .22LR adapter, and was really surprised that I was jerking the trigger and didn't realize it. A bugger in trigger control is the breathing. As you breath, you will notice a short period when you have enough air to use without inhaling or exhaling. It is this period when you shoud be activating the trigger, and don't worry about running out of air, ai'nt nobody died from it yet. |
