I got a new M-1 (M-1 Springfield Special) from the CMP folks in Anniston last year. The grooves cut in the receiver for the elevation knob were too shallow for the windage knob to hang onto. When I would fire a shot, the knob dropped one click, and ergo, the next shot was 1 minute lower. So I got a new elevation plate from Fulton and epoxied it on top of the reveiver, so that the elevation knob had some real notches to "click" into. It seemed to work OK last June (2010 when I checked it out, so I am very anxious for this "Algore warming weatrher" to warm up so I can really start punching holes).
I've got a No. 4 Mark 2 Enfield, and a k98 Mauser (Russian Capture) I want to shoot, too.
With the 100 meter range set up the way it is, I just hope I don't wear myself out with those HP rifles. No matter how much fun I have shooting pistols, I still want to shoot HP rifles.
I can't shoot at Perry any more (eye plus Martha's confinement at Pioneer Care Center),but I can get a good day's shooting in at Mantua.
Hope to see you-all up there.
