Year 2000 studies show that hunters account for over thirty percent of drowning victims. Sometimes from jonboats overturning and sometimes just stepping into holes. Over seventy percent of the hunter victims of drowning were not wearing any kind of flotation device ("PFD"). The following links are informative for boating safety, PFD types (yes, they make them for shotgunners!) as well as shotgunning tips. Let's all brush up and think "safety" before the waterfowl and upland bird seasons begin.
